Stages of the operation

Planning the operation

Your ophthalmologist will ask you to make an appointment with your family doctor for a pre-operative check-up. Following this, your family doctor will fill out a health questionnaire on your behalf and will send it to our anaesthetists.

As a safety measure, we will also ask you to fill out the form regarding anaesthesia that you will obtain from your doctor. This should be given directly to the anaesthetists at Vision Clinique.

You will receive a letter from Vision Clinique confirming the date and time at which you should arrive at the clinic. In general, patients being operated for cataracts are requested to arrive one hour before the scheduled time of their operation, and other patients (where no pupil dilation is needed) only 15 minutes before their operation.
